The “Light of Unity” festival, organized by the Bahá’í Community of Washtenaw County, will begin at 7pm on Friday, October 20th, with a welcome reception and hors d’oeuvres followed by a program — In Service to Humanity — held at the Morris Lawrence Building/Towsley Auditorium. The Friday program, beginning at 8pm, will outline the core principles of religious, racial, cultural, and gender “oneness” essential to humanity’s collective well being, as well as feature a presentation of special awards to Washtenaw County individuals and organizations who serve these goals. The program will also include special performances by nationally and internationally renowned artists: Victor Ghannam (Arabic Ud), XiaoDong Wei (Chinese Erhu), and Athena Johnson (Gospel/R&B &Jazz). Admission is free and open to all.

Please mark your calendars for a free, family-friendly celebration of the Oneness of Humanity at Washtenaw Community College’s Morris Lawrence Building on Sunday, Oct 22, from 2 to 6 pm. This event, part of the “Light of Unity Festival” organized by the Bahá’ís of Washtenaw County, is in celebration of the bicentennial of the birth of Baha’u’llah, the founder of the Bahai Faith, and is focused on increasing awareness of the oneness of the human family through fun activities. Enjoy live music, arts and crafts, face painting, and socializing. Snacks will be provided.
